The Government Must Ensure Fulfillment of Medicine and Oxygen Needs for Self-Isolating Patients

The death rate for Covid-19 patients during self-isolation (isoman) continues to increase. Even the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, a few days ago said that out of 300 people who died while being isoman, about 90 of them were residents of West Java. Prof. Karim Suryadi, argues that the death of a number of patients while isoman, is not only very sad, but also reveals the lack of coordination and limited ability to cope with the pandemic at lower levels. According to him, many patients are forced to be isoman not because they don't feel symptoms or deliberately choose them to avoid exposure to epidemics that are concentrated in one place, but rather because they don't get treatment.

Presidential Election

The proposal for a representative presidential election can be done by amending the fifth amendment to the 1945 Constitution. This fifth amendment is important for the purification of Pancasila democracy from a liberal system to a democratic model that is more compatible with the life of the Indonesian people. Rather than amending the 1945 Constitution to change the term of office of the president from two to three terms, returning the presidential election in a representative manner is more essential. Because changing the term of office for more than two periods betrays the mandate of the Reformation. Therefore, please MPR RI convene to conduct the fifth amendment of the 1945 Constitution with the aim of purifying Pancasila democracy and reducing liberal democracy.
